My own Initial ideas for the thriller opening

For the thriller opening I had the idea of a girl being dragged across the field in a point of view shot. So, you see her feet scraping the ground with leaves and twigs getting in the way. There could be glimpses of her hands where she is trying to fight back and trying to get away. I also want it to be at night time but with torch light where you can sometimes only see the ground (but still hearing the sound of the dragging) and sometimes seeing her – similar to the scene in No Country For Old Man where Llewellyn is being chased by the Mexicans in the truck with the headlight effect. There’ll be dialogue of her pleading for them to let her go – just begging for her life and stuff like that. I’m actually worried that this could be too horror movie than thriller but I thought that it could be a good opening as you’ll be drawn into the sense of confusion and fear for the character; it being in a point of view shot would give the audience a sense of reality like they are being dragged off themselves. I’ve been thinking that 2 minutes of dragging would be quite boring… maybe she’ll be taken of a mysterious black van. There doesn't seem to be any kind of storyline here...i had the idea that she could be buried alive, so that would have a sense of clautrophobia from the idea of being trapped and being in suffication, if it is still in a point of view shot then we can have sand/mud thrown onto the camera - realistic effects. To link this to something bigger, say conspiracies or corruptions in the government, there can be flashes and clicking noises indicating that someone is taking pictures of the current event (girl being buried in a isolated, deserted field fo some kind). At the end of the scene there can be a person, preferably an old man with white/grey slicked back hair, looking through the photos - inwhich the audience could recognise that it is from the scene with the girl being buried. That would be the rough idea of my initial opening to the thriller.

I share your concerns about this seeming a little like a horror. I think you've moved away from this idea now haven't you? Try to use more media terminology in your posts and also try to structure your ideas in a more organised way.
